LANDTEC, the leading provider of technology and software to the Landfill Gas Industry merged with Geotechnical Instruments in October 2006. LANDTEC is headquartered in Colton, California and maintains operations in the UK under the name Geotechnical Instruments.
"The merger represented a major milestone for our company" said Jamie Tooley, General Manager. "By combining the broad range of innovative technology, development and production capabilities of LANDTEC, with Geotechnical Instrument's expertise in designing and manufacturing high performance gas analysers, we have created a dynamic company focused on fulfilling the global need for accurate and reliable monitoring systems."
LANDTEC originally partnered Geotechnical Instruments in 1991 to sell gas analysers and develop the GEM-500 instrument. The GEM rapidly became the standard for monitoring gas quality and flow in the Landfill Gas Industry throughout North America. Since that time, the two companies jointly engineered other technology including the GEM- 500's successor, the GEM 2000 and the stationary Field Analytical Unit (FAU).
"We have combined two successful organisations focusing on methane recovery and renewable energy" said Jamie Tooley. "Geotechnical Instruments has expanded our R&D and customer service capacities as well as the distribution of the LANDTEC system. Based on leading technology, web software and accepted methodologies; the LANDTEC system enables stakeholders in GHG reduction projects around the globe to accurately monitor gas production remotely."
Formed in 1988 in the Landfill Gas Industry, LANDTEC grew to be a leading provider of technology and software for a better environment. Headquartered in Colton, California, LANDTEC designs and manufactures the LANDTEC System for accurate, repeatable measurement of Methane and other Green House Gases (GHG). The system includes Accu-Flow wellheads, GEM portable gas analysers, AEMS stationary monitoring systems and the EnviroComp report service.
